Nutritious Breakfast Smoothie Recipe

Mango Breakfast Smoothie

For a more filling breakfast smoothie packed with nutrients try this mango coconut and lime smoothie.

Ingredients:

½ fresh mango (tip: you can buy fresh mango, dice and freeze to use in future smoothies)

2 heaped tsp coconut cream (or use 1/3 tin coconut milk and reduce water content)

Juice of 1 lime

½ tsp organic turmeric

Pinch of salt

300ml cold water

Blend together with some ice and add a dash of extra virgin olive oil and black pepper. These are undetectable and will help the body to absorb the nutrients from the ingredients. If it needs a little more sweetness add a small amount of honey.

Mango is a powerful fruit packed with lots of different nutrients including vitamin A for skin and hair health, fibre for digestion, potassium to help regulate our fluid balance, B vitamins assisting our cell health and energy levels and vitamin C for immune support. Mango is, however, quite high in sugar so by adding coconut cream to the smoothie we balance out the sugars from the mango avoiding a blood sugar spike.
